Prof. Dr. Shahid Hussain Bukhari is currently serving as Professor of Political Science and Chairman, Department of Political Science at Bahauddin Zakariya University Multan. He has been serving as Associate Professor of International Relations at Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan before his joining as Professor of Political Science. He is a Ph.D. in Defence and Strategic Studies from Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad. Dr. Bukhari has also been an Academic Visitor at the University of Reading, the UK under the Supervision of Dr. Dale Walton and Prof. Colin S. Gray during his Ph.D. in 2011. He did his Masters in Political Science in 1999 with distinction from Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. Dr. Bukhari has more than twenty-two years of teaching and research experience starting from the post of Lecturer in Political Science at The Islamia University of Bahawalpur since 2001. It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Bukhari has been a part of the Strategic Vision Institute, Islamabad as a Visiting Research Fellow.

Dr. Bukhari has published 27 research articles on his account in various HEC recognized research Journals as well as written opinion articles in various newspapers at the national and international level. The best publication on his account is the publication of his book by the renowned international publisher; Routledge (Taylor and Francis) London and New York in 2021. It is worth mentioning that the South Asian Edition 2022 of the same book has been published in India as well. His areas of interest include Nuclear Studies, Conflict Resolution, International Law, and Strategic Studies with special focus on South Asia.
