Beijing: 12th July 2024: Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Prof Ahsan Iqbal, addressed the Second High-Level Meeting on Shared and Sustainable Development, organized by the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA).

Minister Iqbal emphasized the need for alignment, collaboration, innovation, and knowledge sharing to achieve comprehensive effectiveness in the face of global challenges such as climate change, conflicts, and economic crises.

He highlighted Pakistan's commitment to sustainable development, embedding the principles of sustainable development into its #Vision2025 framework and the #5EsNationalEconomicTransformationPlan.

Minister Iqbal praised the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) as a prime example of regional collaboration, enhancing infrastructure, boosting energy production, and creating economic opportunities.

He stressed the importance of innovation, knowledge sharing, and international cooperation to drive sustainable development, and appreciated CIDCA's role in facilitating knowledge sharing.

In conclusion, Minister Iqbal called for collective action to achieve shared and sustainable development, commending President Xi Jinping's leadership in promoting global cooperation and sustainable development.
